THE CHALLENGE- OUR MANDATE

It is unfortunate that today our children are not only facing moral  but  learning  crises, The educational system is commercialized and bastardized. Teachers are poorly motivated and equipped to impact knowledge. The government is busy with politics and more interested in amassing wealth, than in securing the future of our children. The parents and the  society are too busy with economic activities, that they have little or no time for the children.

Hence,  children are imbibing wrong values, and learn so little compared to the knowledge,  skills and values required to survive in a 21st century economy.  According to World Bank   "Schooling is not producing enough learning. Learning outcomes in basic education are so low, in so many contexts, that the developing world is facing a learning crisis. Children are more likely to leave school without acquiring basic skills like literacy or numeracy. Ultimately, the learning crisis translates into severe shortcomings in the skills of the workforce. For too many, learning isn’t happening" The world Bank went on to state that "Globally, 125 million children are not acquiring functional literacy or numeracy" This means this children will end up as functional illiterates, resulting in unproductivity.

Education  is a basic human right, and central to unlocking human capabilities. Education increases human capital and productivity. It bequeaths in students the knowledge and skills needed to survive and make meaningful impact in the society. But today the deplorable state of our educational system, is a major concern, that we must find solution to, in order to secure the future of our children. The  learning capacity of our children is normally wasted, because it is not properly engaged and stimulated for proper learning. Research has shown that the brain of a child is very active for Learning than an adult and failure to engage it adequately will result in underutilization and loss of opportunities. On the other hand, moral decadence, promotion of short cuts and dishonest gain in our society has done great havoc to the  committment of our children to their future. Since most children to their detriment have opted for easy options and have thrown away diligence.

Hence a viable way to SAVE The FUTURE (CHILDREN) is to prepare our children to reject mediocrity and stand out! Even in the midst of corruption and moral decadence. They should be motived to rise above their background, challenges in our society and fulfill their destiny, through honesty, diligence and integrity. They must take their future serious. They must contend for it, It is their future, not their friends, parents, teachers or the  government future. Every child should  be adequately prepared to push through and fulfill his full potential, even in the midst of debased society. Daniel, Joseph, Jesus, and many others have done it and our children can still  do it. We are to galvanize every necessary support for our children's future and  ensure they are protected  from predators and exploiters.
